Doris Brett is an award winning poet and author who has worked as a clinical psychologist for over 50 years. Her book 'Annie Stories' broke ground on narrative therapy for children, and she has lectured extensively about the therapeutic power of stories and metaphors across the lifespan. The unique value of communicating via stories is now recognised by research in areas ranging from advertising and organisational well-being, through to various modes of psychotherapy.

Annette Webb is a paediatric gastroenterologist who has worked with hypnotherapy for over 25 years. She has focused her private practice on hypnotherapy for medical and psychological conditions over the last decade. She has been recognised as a pioneer in the use of GFH in children and adolescents. She currently leads a complex psych-gastro clinic which utilises GFH at RMH for Adult patients. In Private practice she sees both Children Adolescents and Adults utilising hypnotherapy and psychotherapy.

Saturday 9.30am to 4.30pm:
A deep dive into the theoretical complexities of working with children and adolescents when utilising hypnotherapy and other focused psychological strategies. Will include an overview about what are the psychodynamic issues that are important to consider when working with children and families; personality factors: family systems theory; what inductions and self-hypnosis techniques work best at different ages and in different settings and with different specialties e.g. paediatricians and anaesthetists and psychiatrists may use very different techniques depending on the age or sex of child and if using these techniques in private or public practice.
Sunday 9.30am to 4.30pm:
"Live" cases and small group discussions about crafting scripts for various medical and psychological conditions.
This workshop is suitable for clinicians with a sound background in paediatrics and child health.
